Helicopter View

Getting a 'helicopter view' is management twaddle for stepping back from an issue or problem and seeing the whole picture. However, a helicopter view of your office is best enjoyed from an actual helicopter. If it's flying in formation at the time, that's even better.

Although it is important to stay 'On Message', this top tip could save embarrassment when the desire to impress over-reaches the mathematical ability to sustain the effort. Giving 110% is still short of giving 200% by a whopping 90%. Don't go there.

Run It Up The Flagpole

A corporate twaddle expression for testing ideas: A great variety of things have been run up the flagpole. Not all of them fly. Some flutter and many simply sag. It is better to stick with flags.

Granularity

This word is mis-used to describe levels of detail. Of course, everyone knows it's really about how hard the sand feels on your bare feet.
